'Hail To The King' the animated series acts as a prologue to A7X's upcoming mobile game, 'Hail To The King: Deathbat'.

Avenged Sevenfold have enlisted the help of Machinima, and Adult Swim’s Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse) in the creation of a six part animated series inspired by their recent album ‘Hail To The King’.

The series provides the backstory to A7X’s upcoming mobile video game ‘Hail To The King: Deathbat’ which will be released in early 2014.

Avenged Sevenfold front-man, M.Shadows explained the bands decision to promote the game with an animated story.

“We felt this was the best way to tell the story and give you all an idea about the type of game we are creating”

All six episodes of ‘Hail To The King - The Animated Series’ are streaming now via Machinima’s Happy Hour YouTube channel and can be watched in the player below.

Avenged Sevenfold have also released a game-play trailer for ‘Hail To The King: Deathbat’ which can be seen below.

In explaining how the band came up with the idea to accompany ‘Hail To The King’ with a video game, M.Shadows revealed,

“Two years ago while touring in South East Asia I looked around the bus taking us from the airport to the hotel and noticed everyone was on their phones and iPads playing different types of games. We had a discussion and decided that it would be fun to create one of our own. The problem was that we didn’t feel passionate about doing a full on typical music game. We wanted to do something different. Something inspired by some of our favorite games. So we came up with the idea of turning some of our songs and art work into a living, breathing, evil world.”
