As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis murder plot trial likely to drag out until mid 2014.
Tim Lambesis has been given a provisional trial date of 11th March 2014.
On Wednesday (13th November) As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, currently accused of attempting to solicit another to commit the murder of his estranged wife Meggan Lambesis, made another appearance in court for an ‘arraignment on information’ hearing.
According to LambGoat who were in attendance, the hearing was very brief, lasting approximately a minute or enough time for Lambesis to reiterate his consistent plea of not guilty to the charge of ‘solicitation of another to commit murder’.
During this latest appearance, a date was set for a ‘readiness conference’ also know as a ‘pre-trial conference’. The purpose of this is so that Lambesis’ defence can meet with the prosecution and attempt to reach an agreement over the resolution of the case. At this point it is likely that a plea bargain will be discussed. If no agreement is reached between the two parties the case will proceed to trial. The trial proper has been given a provisional date of 11th March 2014, although this date is subject to change.
If the trial becomes protracted and passes the anniversary of Lambesis’ arrest on 7th May, it is likely that singer will have to pay another $160,000 to remain on bail.
